OPEN CARRY IN FLORIDA EXPLAINED
I will do a full blog when the law passes (which is likely) but for now I want to clarify one point…
Despite what you may have heard on the radio in an ad by a gunstore in Sarasota, the Open Carry law will NOT eliminate the necessity of having a carry permit (as in so-called “Constitutional Carry” states). The only civilians who will be able to carry open (ie unconcealed) are those with carry permits, the Florida Concealed Weapons License. I do not yet know about out-of-state permits, but FL residents will still need your CWL.
By the way, in my opinion, Open Carry is something that should be legal and almost never done.
More as the process develops…
