WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO EXPOSE KIDS TO FIREARMS? NOW! (… and some supervision for parents might be helpful as well!)
What a great time to expose kids of any age to firearms and their proper usage and handling, and it will be a great source of info for adults, too. Let’s face it — kids who grow up with guns and learn proper gun usage and safety are not the misfits who go and shoot up schools.
Saturday Feb. 27, Noon till 2:00pm, at Revolutionary Martial Arts and Fitness in Venice on the south Trail http://www.revolutionarymartialartsfitness.com/ It’s one price for the entire family, but every child must be accompanied buy their own parent or guardian, and people without kids can still come! Everybody who lives under one roof gets in for the same $10.
You will see a variety of guns and will learn how to make them safe for handling.
It’s very affordable, but pre-registration is still required. Call Paul at CPF&S 941 504 9525 or Buck at RMA&F 586 703 4526. Deadline is Thursday Feb. 25.
FYI… the following Sat., Mar. 5, we are offering a small caliber rifle class for 13 yrs. of age and up (parent or guardian must attend with minor child). We will start at Noon with an hour of orientation and then carpool to a range in Pt. Charlotte. $40/child includes use of rifle, ammo, ear and eye protective gear, range fees, and course handouts including the Basics of Rifle Shooting book published by the NRA. Deadline for enrollment is Sat., Feb. 27.
Shooting sports are best as a family affair and what better way is there to teach kids about the responsibilities of parenting and citizenship than by starting them early with guns?
