America’s Got Talent invited us to audition! That’s quite an honor, whatever the outcome.
You hear of our cooperative effort with Revolutionary Martial Arts and Fitness in Venice, FL. http://www.revolutionarymartialartsfitness.com/ We hold some of our classes there, and I assist in some martial arts instruction and testing. I do their firearms training. And Buck Buckmaster, the owner of RMA&F, works with me on some martial arts trainings I come across at CPF&S.
So, we are pretty much minding our own business, training seniors how to defend themselves, and the Venice Gondolier writes a story, then ABC7 picks it up, then CNN (!) picks it up nationally. Somehow America’s Got Talent came across it and thought we would be a good act for the show, so we auditioned in Orlando Friday Feb. 19, for the series to air next season. The Gondolier does a follow-up and so does ABC7 (linked here).
And no, we cannot say how we did, as we have contracts prohibiting our disclosure of the results. Let’s say we were pleased with our performance.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT Cane-Fu, as reported by ABC7. Cane-Fu is a trademark of another company. This is Tai Zhang Dao.
